Binh Tran is an experienced business executive with more than 20 years of experience that spans supply chain, finance, and entrepreneurial roles in both Fortune 500 companies as well as small business settings. He has worked at companies such as Starbucks, General Mills, and the Small Business Administration (SBA). Binh is a strategic team orientated leader that drives for differential results. He has experience in leading global teams, organizational transformation, start up’s, joint ventures, business development, and sustainability.

In his current role, Binh is responsible for Cargill’s Global Strategic Sourcing & Procurement function. In this role, he is responsible for the strategic and operational management of $10 billion of external spend across 80 different countries. His focus is to connect the external world with the internal needs of Cargill’s business units to effectively drive topline innovation, margin enhancement, risk management, sustainability, and exceptional service.

He is a proven leader who fosters an environment of creativity, collaboration, and exceptional results. Over his professional career he has focused on building new organizational capabilities, transformation, and elevating performance. 

Throughout his career, Binh has had a passion for developing businesses and the power it can have on the community. He has been involved in mentoring and teaching budding entrepreneurs through Social Venture Partners (SVP), where several of his mentees made it to final rounds and funding. Binh is a current board member of MEDA, which is a minority business development center based in Minneapolis. 

Binh is a graduate from the University of Minnesota with a B.S. degree in Genetics and Cellular Biology, and an MBA from the University of St. Thomas. He also holds certifications in Financial Capital Markets and Investment from University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.
