Miti Patel is vice president of Engineering and Sciences (E&S) for the Networked Information Solutions (NIS) division for Northrop Grumman’s Mission Systems sector.
In this role, Miti is responsible for the Engineering & Sciences (E&S) talent that supports the Networked Information Systems (NIS) division. She oversees an organization of more than 2,500 employees, leading the organization in all aspects of engineering, sciences, development of advanced capabilities and employee growth and development. She is based in Redondo Beach, CA.
Miti has extensive experience in systems engineering (SE) execution, developing and delivering mission capabilities to the customer and end-user communities. Most recently, she served as director of the Systems Engineering functional homeroom in the Strategic Space Systems Division in Redondo Beach, where she oversaw the SE talent strategy for training, retention, hiring and staffing of the SE workforce across all SSSD programs. In this role, she also supported Enterprise SE initiatives such as digital transformation, including leading the update of SE processes to reflect Model Based Systems Engineering best practices.
Prior to this, she served as the SE&I IPT lead on the Sentinel program, leading the team through a successful PDR, developing the EMD SE proposal, negotiations and the program startup in Roy, Utah. Prior to that, she held multiple SE&I leadership roles across several restricted space programs including the Advanced Mission Programs and Megatron, as well as SE leadership roles supporting Directed Energy programs such as the Airborne Laser Program.
She earned a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from Cal Poly Pomona.
